Labrador Retriever / Boxer / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Gemma the Dog needs a home

STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.

Gemma is a 4 years old, 45# mountain curr/lab/boxer mix. She is a little shy at first with people but warms up super quick. She is a smart girl and is also potty trained. She enjoys playing with her doggie toys or having someone throw a ball around for her to chase after.

She is gentle with the 7 year old boy she currently lives with at her foster home and they have a blast playing together. She is a sweet girl, who is a great mix of playful and cuddly and sleeps thru the night.

She takes treats gently and knows sit.  She recognizes her name and responds to it. She also listens to tones of voice very well. She enjoys sniffing around in a fenced yard or in short bursts running in it with a doggie toy. She is good with other dogs with proper introductions.

If your looking for playful, cuddly, sweet natured or good with kids of all ages,  apply for this true gem so she can meet her furever family!

All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped.

AGE DISCLAIMER:
Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.
  BREED DISCLAIMER:
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality,
not
by breed label .
Microchips:
For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!
